Can anyone recommend a specific brand of OBD II scan tool for use on 96 and later 850's? Many thanks!

If you have a laptop computer I'd get the setup from www.OBD-2.com. But if you don't have one then I would recommend the Actron 9135 you can get from Discount Autoparts, PepBoys, Sears, etc... or Ebay for less than $100. The only other one that will reset the Service Light is the one from IPD (I mean other than the one from OBD-2.com). The Actron will NOT reset the service light if thats what you're looking for.

I'd recommend the one from Alex C. Peper at http://www.obd-2.com/
because it's the only one (at my knowledge) who does reset the Service Light

IPD sells OBD-2 software for around $170, but it will NOT reset the service light. They sell a separte plug-in module that will reset the service light (and do nothing else) for also around $170. They do/will not combine the two for obvious economic reasons. OBD-2.com is still your best bet.
