Hi to all you Volvo lovers out there!
I have a 98 V70 and I am trying to make it better sounding unit... I just made a 6PIN DIN-RCA adapter (AnthonyR instructions) and I do not know some things...
- Is it true that when you push the 6PIN DIN in the Headunit, the internal amplifier looses power and all the speakers must be then powerd via amplifers ?
- Must I put the ground wire (on the DIN-RCA adapter) on the outer circle (the housing part of the 6PIN DIN ) of the DIN or is the PIN connection enough ?
- Where did you guys run the power wire for your amp through the firewall ? I looked and I think it is not the same on the 850 series and 70 series cars... I looked for a rubber cap, but no luck ...
- What kind of aftermarket speakers and what sizes did you put in your front doors, dashboard, rear doors and rear panels ?
- What did you do with the depth of the speakers and the original speaker grill ? As I tryed to put some Magnat speakers in the front doors and some Altec Lansing in the back doors I noticed that speaker magnet is much bigger and deeper than the original one...
- How about the wires that power the speakers in doors ? I disassembled everything and saw that there is a special connector that contains all cables from the car to the doors and I do not see any way to push an extra cable through... or are the original wires strong enough ?
- I have a SC806 unit and I would like to know is there a simple way to connect it in the way that it works also when the car is not running ?
If enyone of you people have any suggestions for me or even pictures, that would be GREAT ! I am really looking forvard to do this upgrade... and I am sorry for my bad english (am from Slovenia)...
I really like your page and I spent many hours reading at your forum...
Thanks for any reply !
