94 850 pollen filter 850

I would appreciate if someone can tell me if a 94 850 has a pollen filter? Thanks.

No, they did not have one, but you can add one easily. I believe it is the same thing as a "cabin filter." It is a good idea to add one because the lack of one has been attributed to the Evap. problem that is common on 850 A/C systems. Having one takes extra moisture out of the system prolonging the life of the EVAP. When the Evap goes we're talking about $1000 for the repair.

Probably, not, but you can add one quite easily. I added one to my 1997 turbo 850. It was about $32. I got the parts online.

I added one to my 96 850 GLT and it took about 10 minutes. the kit is simple. There are many other posts on it but it is also called a cabin filter, I believe. I got my from Ebay.

Found a "pollen filter changed" sticker on 850 last time it was in for service. Had the date of the service filled in. I was amused because i was quite sure i did not have a pollen filter. Just for grins I opened up the area where it should not have been and found a new filter installed. The old one had been there since 96 when i bought the car.
Looks like they may have been standard on 96 850 GLTs.

Just out of curiousity I checked to see if mine had one. 95 854t and it did.
Black as anything. So I vac'd the debris off of it and sprayed it and stuck a bounce sheet on it. I'll get a new one next time I go to the parts store. The bounce sheet smells nice though.
