440 ECU Codes 400 1993

Hi everyone

I am having problems with my 440 1.6 (B16F Fenix 3b injection system).

The car has failed the mot test on the emisisons. High idle test produced a % co2 reading of 1.8, where it should be less that 0.3

reading the ecu codes came up with 2-1-2, which is an oxygen (Lambda Sond) sensor fault. I had the oxgen sensor changed at great cost, they ain't cheap, and i still have the same code on the ecu!

Do i have to clear the code or cshould it clear its self???

How do i clear the ecu??

Can you point me to some online info??

Thanks for anyhelp given, i just wanna get my car back on the road.

Vertas

There is a clear-procedure, but it doesn't always work in my experience..

What always seems to work is simply disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes, re-connect and then it's clear.

Bye, Arno.

Hi

thanks for the reply

I did manage to clear it.

The procedure is

1)turn on ignition
2)Connect the flying wire to number 2 hole on the self test point
3)Hold button down for more that 5 seconds
4) when the led lights (aprox 3 seconds after releasing button) hold the button down for a further 5 seconds.
5) press the button once for a short time to get the fault code, should be 1-1-1 to indicate ecu has been cleared.

Regards

Vertuas

Yup.. That's the procedure, but I have seen it fail on some cars. They just didn't want to clear the codes this way. Disconnecting the battery for a while worked there..

Bye, Arno.
