Hello. I just purchased a '96 850 GLT and am quite happy with it. It came with the retractable cargo barrier the extends over the cargo area. I don't want it, and can't figure out how to remove it. How do you take it out?? Thanks.

I think there were a couple of different covers. We have the rear
"hat shelf" and the cover is built into this rear shelf. The
whole shelf lifts out in our case.

I will add that when it was installed some of the interior trim
pieces were replaced with new parts from the kit. So, if you
want to take it out permanently you might not have all the
original trim pieces (but you might not care about that).

Hi Ryan

It is best to lower the back seats then the cargo cover you slide to the left as you look at it from the back of the 850 and there you go it's out....
