alert message bulb failure position light V70-XC70

I'm really fed up with a 'bulb failure position light' on my dashboard. New model V70 (2000). Volvo told me a 'position light' was a side light yet all of my bulbs are working. Can anybody help, please? I've checked all the bulbs and their holders.

As Bob says, the position light is a tail light. Not always easy to tell which one, but when you find it take the bulb in to the store for a match. The number listed in the owners' manual does not always make a lot of sense. I found that my position light had some weird number that the NAPA store couldn't cross. I pulled the bulb and found that the bulb is a perfectly standard 1157. Getting them out can be pretty easy, getting them in can be uncomfortable.

Position light is any of the 4 taillights.

replace light bulbs in pairs, to make sure bulb wattage/amps is the same in both bulbs, which is what the failure sensor reads.

all bulbs need to match and some are watts. and some are candlepower, look it up by application, the dealer should be able to do this right.
