cruise control 850

I bought my '93 850 used just a couple of months ago. The car works great except for the Cruise Control, which does not work at all. Is this a common problem with the 850? Is there anything you would recommend i check or do before i take it to the dealer? Thanks.

local dealer technican found a vacumn hose crimped undeneath the battery on my '93 850

never really double checked his fix, but the cruise works now
