does my abs know that my brake rotors are worn 850 1996

my abs light is on, and my front rotors need replacement. does the abs light have anything to do with this?

You can search on "1996 abs" (below, to the right) to find lots
of info on 1996 models and the ABS sensor problems (not completly
limited to 1996 models but this year seems to have more ABS issues).

The problems are unrelated. 1996 models have common problems with the ABS units.

Well, I never had an ABS problem, but I doubt the system knows your rotors are worn. The system has a magnetic sensor at each wheel, a lot of times they and the rotor it reads against just get dirty, cleaning can take care of it. You may need to re-set the code. Don't know how its done on an 850.
