Clear Instrument Panel Removal 850 1997

Okay, I used Bay 13 to get the instrument panel out to change the light bulbs, but while I have it out I want to remove the clear plastic guage shield to clean behind it. It has some smudges or dust accumulation. What is the best way to pry it off without breaking it and to seal and replace it? Bay 13 does not seem to have a section on this.

Thanks!

Clear Instrument Panel Removal 850 1997

    AP,

I don't know if this applies to the 850's. On the 70series, the plastic lens is fused to the frame.

To clean mine, I removed the guage assembly and working through the holes used a clean & DRY micro-fiber glass cleaning cloth to gently remove the haze.

I think the plastic is very easy to scratch and using a liquid may ruin either the lens or the finish of the attached frame.

You might be able to break the seal and reattach the lens, but I wasn't willing to test that theory.

    Good luck,

    Bryan
