Car is 'bucking' or 'skipping' 850

My '97 850 (106,000 miles) has the tendency to "buck" or "skip" (you can feel the car mildly jerk every few seconds) whenever I am at an idle (stop lights, stop signs) after having driven it for a few minutes. Anybody have any ideas about possible problems and $$ involved?

Earlier I asked about my car's vibration problems/growling on startup. I learned that the problem involved my car being low on fuel, and this was aggravating some sort of secondary fuel pump in my fuel cell. Anyway, after gasing up the problem was gone. Thanks for all the tips.

Mine also was doing this (96 850 Turbo). You could especially feel it with your foot on the brake at a stop light. I told the mechanic about it when I took it in for the 60K inspection. He called me to say that he didn't notice anything wrong. Got the car back and it is not doing it now. Something in the 60K inspection fixed it. Maybe new plugs?? I don't know.

If you A/C is on but low the compressor will try to start every few seconds slowing the engine . I have noticed it also on the highway.

It's definitely not the A/C. I don't run the A/C because it stopped blowing cold months ago despite the fact that I re-charged the freon several times. Thanks.

Just thought: The AC compressor runs when you are in defrost
mode. It removes moisture from the air so most cars now engage the AC
        for defrosting.

I would ask myself an honest question, "have I changed the fuel fitler yet?" I would definitely include some fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank as a regular maintenance item, like every 3000 miles or less.
