towing w/a cross country

has anyone here towed anything over 2000 lbs. w/a cross country, i was looking into a 960 to tow my tralier, but got some negative feedback on that idea, i dont think it will be strong enough so im consudering using a cross country

    Hi Captain,

    I tow a large pop-up camper (+2000 lb.) with my V70 no problem. When I go camping, the car is usually loaded to the ceiling. The back end of the cars sags a little bit under the load but I can still pass cars on the rough little backroads no problem. I think it would be even easier with a X-C. I know the towing capacity for most volvos is around 3350 lbs, it may be even more with an X-C.
