CD CHANGER HELP!!! 850

i've got hold of a alpine chm-s620 cd changer that i want to fit to my '98 s70r (sc-900 head unit) which already has the wiring to fit the changer in place.

but i've had a a look at the wires that run to the boot and they do not match the ones on the changer!!!

does this mean only a volvo changer can be fitted or can i buy an adapter that will do the trick???

any ideas cheers

    CD CHANGER HELP!!! 850

I just installed an Alpine S620 into the glove compartment of my 1995 850 wagon last night. I used the VOLALP adapter I bought off of sounddomain.com for $20 plus shipping. My volvo head unit was the SC 811. It works fine.

You are in luck, you already have the right changer,Peripheral (of Recoton)makes an interface that works with it. I just finished the installation of mine to an SC813 and it works great. You can find it over the net but look around because I could be pricey I found it for 50$ add 7 for shipping.

    Good luck

use the search function for the site--try using "VOLALP" as the search criterion. the adapter is commonly available, and not very expensive.
