cam sensor 850

Can anyone tell me what it would cost to have my cam sensor replaced by a dealer and a non-dealer. Thanks for your help.

Brad,

I'm not sure of the cost as yet, but I'm having some trouble with my 850 that we think may be cam sensor - how was your's acting , or what were the symptoms that ledyou to think that was the problem, and how was it diagnosed??

Mine just quits for no apparent reason, and it then hard to start, and sometimes won't. Also smells bad when this happens. I'vealso had instances where it revs up to 3000 rpms or so without the accelerator peddle being touched, which is a bit scary. I've travelled a few miles wiothout touching the gas when this happens.

Any info might be helpful... I'll see what I can find out about cost here in Cananda if that's any good to you

Randy

Mine stalls at times but will restart right away. My mechanic thinks it is
the cam sensor. It doesn't stall all the time. The check engine light will go on, then the engine will stall.

Update: After some testing, now looking at the crank sensor (or RPM sensor) , cam sensor appears to be about $150US on-line, crank sensor about $50 US.
