Help! I have a 1999 C70 convertible with warning light issues. It started a few weeks ago with the tracs and abs lights coming on sporadically. After reading postings I figured this was the abs control module. Yesterday, however, the brake light (not abs or parking brake) came on as well as the check engine light. The abs and tracs lights also came on yesterday, but not at the same time. In addition, the digital odometer was blank for a short time and then came back on with accurate mileage, and the climate control was blinking and the fan was on even though the air was turned off. I've also noticed a fan running for awhile after I shut the engine off at times. When I drove it today, there were no lights on or problems. Please help diagnose these issues as I think they may be related.

I would check the battery terminals, just to make sure that they are clean and have good contact. An easy quick first thing to check. Cars with all these electronics are very sensitive to electrical fluctuations. How old is the battery by the way?

It may be worthwhile to get a code reader from IPD to scan the computer for code messages. That could save you from a lot of extra chasing down of problems, and give you a leg up when talking to your service people.

Checked the battery. Seems fine. More lights have been popping up including the winter driving light flashing. Also, the speedometer stopped working for awhile and the odometer display went out, but it came back on and was accurate. I'm thinking it must be the computer system. Any thoughts?
