gas tank vent hose 850 1995

I need to replace the gas tank vent hose, or whatever you call it. Where is the best place to get one and how difficult is it to replace? I was also wondering if anyone with an 855 has experienced all the locks locking when the rear hatch is shut especially when the weather is cold. I once had my 2 year old locked inside while at the recycling center, keys in ignition, phone in car, not cool. It seems to be a completely random event, happens less than half the time.

How do you know it's a gas tank vent hose? If the dealer told you that, I'd be skeptical. Take it to an independent repair facility. Or better yet, just ask someone in a parking lot who owns a volvo where they take it. That's how I found my wrench (he works at my office!)

Maybe you are referring to the flame trap tube? It can cause an electronic code that signals there is a pressure drop in the fuel delivery system.

Hint: Next time take your keys with you, especially with a kid in the car.

It was very careless to leave your 2 year old child in the car with the keys in the ignition.

The vent hose to the gas tank is not available as a part from Volvo - instead, Volvo will sell you a new gas tank with all the fittings ( about $400 plu $150 to $200 for installation).

There is a workaround - my indy volvo mechanic located the exact hose from , i think , a 940 Volvo.

Cost this route is about $200 - the fuel tank has to be dropped.
