ABS Module. S70 1998

I know that the ABS module is a very big problem on the '98 Volvos. My brother's '98 S70 with 14,000 miles has the ABS light lit up. Is this normal with so few miles? Would a Dealer repair this under warranty even though it is five years old? What can he do about this?
Thanks in advance.

The module on my 98 S70 GLT just went at 63,000 miles. Luckily, I had bought it as a Certified Used Vehicle at a Volvo dealer, so it was covered under the certified warranty. Otherwise it would have been about $800. Since his only has 14,000 miles on it, Volvo might fix it. If he goes to the dealer regularly & they know him, they might call North American Volvo for him & get approval to fix it.

A dealer would not have to repair it but they might do so
in this case (but would probably have to get Volvo North America
involved). Depends on the dealer, actually. Certainly would not
    hurt to ask them.

A call to Volvo North America might be a better start to directly
see if they can do anything. The owners manual should list contact
    info.
