855T drivability concern 850 1994

I'm getting a surging / hesitation at highway speeds.
Vehicle is a 1994 855T. Intake is clean (re and re'd on the weekend with new intake manifold gasket and throttle body is clean). I re and re'd the oil separator and rinsed it out with carb cleaner. It's clean!
Interestingly, a strong whistle on hard acceleration. Perhaps an intake hose loose?

It may be vacuum leaks, etc (darn crappy vacuum elbows) but I thought I'd check with the collective.

Cheers all,

Paul N.

    What's up??
I also drive a 94 855T and the stock boost gauge seems to be acting strangely. I don't know if this has any tribute to your existng problem, but the needle now indicates more boost after i fixed the leaky elbow on a vacuum hose. (the one hidden behind the power steering pump, leads all the way to the intake duct before the turbo)
what is the correct position of the needle when the engine is off?? and any suggestions on hooking up an aftermarket boost gauge??

does your boost gauge move? is the boost gauge acting normally. 850 1994

    sounds like boost problem.

Yup, it works just fine (my sone likes to yell "use the turbo daddy" and then watch the boost gauge).
However, an interesting point. I do get an odd, very loud whistle (clearly air related) during very hard accelleration. Maybe an air leak in the turbo plumbing? I must look further.

        Hello 855 Toronto,
The very loud whistle is most likely your turbo relief valve.
Have you not heard this before on hard accelleration?
