You can use a Dawes Device manual boost controller, i have one on my low pressure GLT turbo the stock boost was about 6 psi and i set the controller at 10-11 psi.

Boost is controlled by a computer. By disconnecting a hose you probably
put the system into a state that the computer can not control.

If you would like to experiment you might try adjusting the
wastgate control rod. Search on "wastgate rod" below, to the right,
to find posts on the do's and don'ts of messing with it.

The best way for more boost would be an updated ECU controller.
TME sells this as do others. You can also search on "dawes device"
for a mechanical means of controlling the boost that a coupl of
people have experimented with.

hi, a wastegate is like an overpressure gate for the turbo , when the good pressure is reached inside the turbo, the wastegate open to evacuate the pressure in the exhaust ,,, well its basic but thats it ,,,
