Do I need 2 new Tires V70-XC70 2000

Teenage son decides he can drive V70 into curb. Why-because he is a teenager. Do I need to say more?

Front right tire protests and blows out sidewall.

8000 miles on all tirss, rotated at 5k. Do I need 2 tires, or can I get away with one, since relatively low mileage? These are Dunlop Sport A2's. If I buy just one, my plan will be to put on rear, and run 10-15K before rotating again.

Thanks, Tom

If you haven't already, make sure the tire was the only thing that was damaged. You didn't say in your post whether or not you've had the steering/suspension/brakes checked for damage, so I'd thought say something.

And I'm assuming this is NOT an AWD model -- if it is, you should replace tires in pairs, at the very least.

    Good luck.

That plan will increase the difference between the two fronts and the new rear, with a tire in between as a bonus.

I'd rotate the three similar tires around, swapping the new tire from side to side in the rear. I'd rotate as often as I could, ie. every 5K.

Of course, this becomes moot when your son hits another curb ;)
