    Sway bar links 850 1994

These are the usual culprits, also the cheapest suspension part to replace. Take them off if there is excessive play in the sockets its time to get a new one. I bought an extra one & dont need it so I can sell it cheap. Brand new in the bag never installed

Had the exact same symptoms and sounds. I did everything possible to try to diagnose before replacing parts, but couldn't isolate sound. Finally took a chance and replaced the spring seat and solved the problem. The inner metal bushing had seperated from the outer rubber piece. I got the spring seat from FCP Groton (I think) for about $23 dollars and did the work myself. Good luck with your repair, I am about to attempt the dreaded evaporator core replacement (uhhggg!!).

My mechanic tested for the spring seat (the rubber part under the metal part) or whatever it's called by taking a wrench and putting just a little torque on the nut to see if it moved. The good side didn't and the bad side did.

I also bump tested it several times (pushed down on the side of the bumper) and noticed the bad side tended to move farther than the good side. I was also told that the factory shocks tend not to go until 150k.

On mine, the metal barrel inside the rubber had seperated, causing the noise.
