manual tranny in a T5R 850

Does anyone know if the 850 T5R's came with a manual tranny to the US? I've seen posts for one or two for sale in Canada.

Follow-on question: will the 850 manual tranny that we did get in the non-turbo models handle the horsepower and torque of the T5R motor? I have a chance to put one together and need to know if it would work.

Thanks

Dave

I believe the 850 turbos and non turbos came with the same Volvo M56 transmission, which will easily handle all the torque of a T5R. European Car had an article about a guy in Sweden who has an 854R that can run an 11 second 1/4 mile (easily 400+ HP) and he was still using the Volvo M56, the only upgrade being a new clutch. Says quite a bit about Volvo's transmissions doesn't it?
