Hi, I'm normally on the 740 forum but I've also now got a V70 with ECC. Well, after having it just one week the ECC has stopped blowing cold suddenly after working perfectly. The dealer is 200 miles away and says it probably needs a re-gas but I'm not so sure. It doesn't click like I understand they do when low on gas (refrigerant). The fan works when switched to auto but it feels like it's blowing warm air at any temp setting. Could this be a "flap" problem and is there a quick check before I take it to an AC specialist?

Cabin temperature sensors are prone to go on 99/00 models.

There's a "damper" in the system with an arm that's under the glovebox, and it sometimes falls off it's shaft or breaks. Also, there's a TSB technique to reset the damper motors with the ACC button akin to holding down the "cont.-alt.-del" buttons on a DOS computer. Try the Brickboard search feature above.
