Under egine cover

Hello,

I just notice my 2003 V70 2.4 non turbo does not have an under engine tray. The tray I'm refering to covers the area where the oil filter is and oil pan.

Is this the way they came from the factory?

Perhaps the dealer did not re-instal after oil change? It seems that it would offer good proctection considering the oil filter has a plastic casing.

Thank you,
Sandro

    Under engine cover

Some models have them, some don't and that changes by the year. Volvo seemingly can't make up their minds on whether or not to use them.
They don't really do anything even when they are installed so I wouldn't worry about it. They don't keep the engine, trans cleaner nor will the plastic help if you bottom out on rocks or cement as the oil pan will still crack if that ever happens.
