Considering a re-built trans from 'Eriksson' 850

I finally found another source for re-built automatic transmissions for our 850's other than the Volvo dealer. Just wondered if anyone else has ever placed
an order with these guys in Connecticut and what their experience was?

http://www.erikssonindustries.com/

They also offer a 12 month warranty with UNLIMITED mileage.

    Out of curiosity, what's their price?

        I could be wrong here but I believe a genuine Volvo remanufactured transmission is around the same price. I'd investigate that before making any purchase.

          MWM;
          What does "genuine" mean anymore? Volvo technicians are not even taught how to repair an automatic transaxle. They just have a vendor out there somewhere
          who rebuilds old cores back to Volvo specs. I am not so sure that makes it genuine. Besides I hope to do better on the labor charges that my closest Volvo dealer quoted me this afternoon. $1810 for the Re-man trans, $1200 labor.
          That equates to $100/hr. Wow!

            I'll take a Volvo reman part anyday over a third party when the costs are nearly equal. Especially on such a labor intensive repair. If your dealer gives you a 10% discount (many do - also VCOA) you'd be paying less for genuine Volvo. I'm not sure of Volvo's policy but if you happen to get a bad tranny installed by a dealer, they may cover the cost of the replacement labor (or a good percentage). Check all the facts before you buy. If you're confident of a third party rebuilder then why even ask about them?
