That also happened to me.
A friend(who has a lot of car experience) and I took off the back door interior, and pulled the lock out(not too hard, just remember how it came out and undo the plug(s?). Took the little motor(Black box)(the innards of the box looked amazing cheap by the way) out and very carefully took it apart by cutting along the sides with an Xacto knife(Its halves were glued together). After simply moving the bits around inside and manipulating the action a teeny bit (carefully, the internal bits wanted to pop out) put it back together, rubber banded it and put it back and it worked! Apparently the motor simply runs some little gears back and forth and a bit of what acts as the the brushes built up some carbon on one spot, and it was stuck there would not run, after the gentle jiggling and the carbon spot was gone or moved to a different point in the motors action. We pulled it out again, glued the edges of the box carefully and rubberbanded it again, put it back and it works to this day.
Haynes has a fair description of how to take the back off and get the lock out.
Once fixed all the doors locked again, it was the stuck motor that kept the back from locking.I imagine that little black box is also your problem.
Most shops would just replace the whole thing I imagine($$). My friend with the experience gave me the confidence to try this fix and it worked. I hope you have a cheap and successful resolution.
