Oxygen Sensors S40-V40 2001

Anyone replaced the oxygen sensor(s) on their S40? Any advice? Where did you buy? Any special tool needed? Autozone says check engine light is fault in sensor.

Are there 2 oxygen sensors on US models? I see 2 sensors in the exhaust front pipe just after the turbo. 1 is definately an oxygen sensor (I just replaced it). What is the other one about 6 inches downstream?

Is your car still under warranty? If so let the dealer deal with it. They cover emissions related componants longer than the standard warranty. It's six or eight years - I don't know offhand but they are required by federal law to warranty emissions items longer.

Yes, car is out of warranty. I too have heard the emissions stuff is warranted longer than the 4-50 but I can't find in writing. Code for Check engine light is front O2 sensor. I wanted to know if a special tool is required or of it better to let dealer do it. Thanks

Greg
