door clicks S70 1999

i have a '99 glt and hear a clicking whenevr i open the door. it appears to be coming from the middle of the door hinge side. there is a small post mid door which has a half boot on it. when the door is opened the hinge for that post clicks and has a slight flex compared to the passenger side. i tried silicon spray and white lithium grease but it still make that click. any suggestions??

    door clicks S70 1999

Bad news, just had my S70 in for service and asked that they check out my very loud! door clicks - interestingly - what a coincidence, when I was waiting for my service to be written up another customer came in with same complaint - customer had door welded was told it was a "design flaw" the weld didn't hold and I don't know what the final resolution is or cost - I believe the service tech said new bolt system was needed. Anyway, I was quoted $300 USD for the weld job but I appealed on "design flaw" - Keystone Motors in Doylestown, PA told me they would "contact their rep" - bottom line - 4 days has gone by and no one has followed up with me - I'll have to give them a call. I too tried the lube, etc. - lube won't fix the design flaw.

Ditto for my 98 S70, finally the click click went away and now my door swings freely - Was quoted by my Indy in St. Louis 80 bucks 40 for part and weld and 40 labor, we'll see seems like there would be a lot more labor than 40 bucks, might as well get him to replace the cheap ass locks that break when the handle is pulled the same time as the remote unlocks.. Wish Volvo would at the very least offer a 50% percent discount on fixes they know are just crap components or design flaws.. I think it is called customer satisfaction...

      Later, Glass
