Tran Flush with top hose?

I have a 98 S70 and its time to flush the transmission again (27K miles ago). Last time I disconnected the hose at the tranny (using claw wrench)...this time I want to do it using the top hose on the cooler. I know that when you do it this way that you are not flushing the cooler since the top hose goes to the cooler, but could I fill new fluid through the open fitting on the top of the cooler and then be flushing the cooler with it? Or is that a backwards way of thinking about it. I would like to do the cooler too as I'm going to synthetic fluid now.

thanks.

    Tran Flush with top hose?

Your concern about the cooler holding old oil can be taken care of by blowing (low pressure) in the top radiator fitting while the hose is out before starting the flush. Any oil will wind up in the tranny and get flushed out.
