labor rate to change timing belt 850 1993

I own a '93, '95 and '96 850. I'll do about anything to the cars except engine. What is a reasonable labor rate to change timing belt on the '93? Belt and all seals on the '96? Thanks!

Be glad you don't live in the San Francisco area then - I have been quoted $700 to $900 by three different garages and a dealer. I think I will read up and maybe try it myself!

Depends on where you live. Volvo says 2.1 hours to replace. Labor
is $135/hour where I live so about $270.

I just had my timing belt changed on my 1995. (Same as 93, just wider belt)

    Timing Belt Cost: $35.00

    Labor: $96.60 (2.30 Hours)

    Total Cost: $131.60

    Place: Durham, NewHampshire.

I would also change the serpentine belt while your at it.

Thanks! I'm in SW Missouri so labor rates are likely similar. I just bought the '93 for my 16 yr old son. Car has been well maintained, (142K miles no error codes at purchase or present, no fluid leaks, etc.) however I can't find a record of timing belt change. The narrower belt change interval is 50K so I thought I should do it and quit worrying. I estimated around $150.00 so the price is in my range of willingness to pay someone else rather than do it myself.
