was taking of the front wheel to do some work when the locking wheel nut sheered off. I can get the adapter onto it but as soon as i put on pressure it just slips.

what can i do to get it off?????????????

grew up on a farm....try using a punch / or chisel and a hammer and maybe some heat and "blaster"....a constant repettetive blows will eventually back the "remaining" nut off...direct the punch to the desired position as the nut backs off...(to keep the desired angle you must rotate the punch as the nut backs off and direct the hammer accordingly....at some point you will be hammering upside down if you know what i mean.....good luck....if you cant get it find the nearest farm and find the hired hand with no education and he can get it off....ken.

Strangely enough I saw a tire shop dude take off one with one of those "Gator" sockets that you see on TV that grip onto weird shaped bolts and stuff. Is yours a McGard wheel-lock? The ones the Volvo dealer installed on my 850T are McGard and I don't see how those things could break off. But there's only 80 ft. lbs of torque required to tighten those lugs bolts so it shouldn't be too hard to remove, unless some ape overtightened the crap out of them with an impact driver or something. I recommend buying a 1/2" drive torque wrench if you don't already have one, so you can tell when you have 80 ft lbs on the lug bolts when you're retightening them. Disc-brake rotors are sensitive to warping from overtightening. Try calling around to your local autoparts stores and see if you can find one of those grip-all sockets, they're only about $10-$15 and you might be surprised that it works. Cops say they're used all the time by car thieves to steal the expensive rims that almost always have wheel locks on them. Good luck ............ Mike ........... Miami, FL

Was the entire ring torn off? I had a section chip off and was able to glue the piece back on. It held long enough to remove the bolt. If that doesn't work, needle-nose vise-grips holding the bolt and a wrench applied to the vise-grips may work. There are also nut extractors sold at Sears, but I didn't see any larger than 19mm which won't fit around the wheel lock bolt. A tire store or mechanic may be able to pound an impact socket over the bolt to get enough grip with the impact wrench. Good luck.

Its the outer surrounding with about 60% missing. Ive tried hammering a socket onto it but its very tight. Looks like im gonna have to drill it out!

I had lost the key on my wheel locks and went to NTB to have all four wheel locks sheared off and remove with their removal device.

Stay away from those locks. They always seem to break down. And that's what you really want at two in the morning in rain on a deserted road ): Trust me, if someone want's your wheels they WILL get them. Locks, or not.
