C70 newbie...I have a few questions C70

I recently pruchased a 99 c70 coupe hpt...and I have a couple questions for those seasoned c70 owners out there.

1. What is the model designation number of the engine ex: B230 (for the 740s)

2. What could be the cause of a hard idle upon starting the engine? It goes away after i give it some gas, but it almost stalls in the first couple seconds of idling.

3. Have any of you installed a boost gauge?

4. Where can I find detailed specs on the c70 models.

1. Engine designation is under the hood on the emission sticker, likely a B52....

2. YOu probably need a electronic throttle module (ETM) unlike the 98 and before the throttle is know a module and when it goes out, you cannot clean it to improve performance, it needs to be replaced and loaded with software 630 dollars only available at you local Volvo dealership.

3. boost gauge, Ipdusa.com has that deal.

4. Ill tell you Road & Track online has all the specs you need.

Do you have a picture of the install? I would be interested in seeing how exact a fit it is. Thanks for the info. I'm intrigued.

You can use the pillar pod for the Ford Focus. It's a perfect fit, if you use the single pod, dual pod won't fit without mods, all that is needed is to choose the gauges you want.

Hi Arthec412,

2- Hard starting maybe : Battery getting old [ fuel pump not getting enough juice ] if u have your OEM battery get it out ASAP as it will fail with no warning. Get a Interstate MT-47.

Could be spark plugs if they have not been changeg.

Could be throttle body is in the need of cleaning.

The pros and veterans can probably give you more possibilities.

3- IPD's 70 series boost gauge does not fir the c70A pillar. That's why
many c70 owners don't have one.
