Service Light Interval. C70

How often should the "Service" light come on? I'm thinking every five thousand miles. If it is reset, will come on five thousand miles later? Or is it preset in the ECU and it does not matter when you reset it with the reset tool?
I used my reset tool on my '98 C70 at exactly 60K and the "Service" light came on at 64,114 miles. Thanks for any help.

I just took out the lamp. C70

I change my oil every 5K miles, whether it needs it or not. (cue: laugh track.)

The interval can be set by the dealers. I think it can be set to
time or milage and the values used are changeable (6 months or
12 months or 7.5K miles or 15.0K miles, etc.). I'm not sure of the
    default settings.

Did you reset it 6 months ago by any chance?

I reset it about four months ago during my 60K servicing on the car.
I guess my "Service" light is based on time and/or mileage.

Not to seem paranoid but if the Service Light can be predetermined by the dealer, can the CEL also be set to come on by the dealer?

Mine seem to come on 4 years to the date of purchase.
