Climate Control - model year interchangability question 850

I was wondering which, if any model years of electronic climate control (automatic) were compatible with the 1993 model year, so long as it will function the same and fit in the opening, I don't care if it's a different color or layout from the 1993 version

I have exchanged a 1994 MY with 1993 MY without problems.
