What type of oil? V70-XC70

Can someone tell me what type of oil I should use on my 5cyl, 2.5L turbo? I want to use synthetic, but I dont know what weight to use. People tell me turbos get hotter than normal cars. Should I use 15w-50, or should I use 10w-30? If anyone has long term experience with these oils, I'd love to hear about them. Thanks ;)

Mobil 1 5-30 check for sales on this. You use 6 qts , use a good filter, Mann is on EBAY alot for about 5.00 each

Don't waste your money on AMSOIL - not cost effective for normal driving.

With regards to turbo, definintly use full synthetic- not a blend.

    good luck

ps Mobil 1 web site recommends 5-30 for normal temps, 10-30 for over 104 degrees

Do what your owners manuel suggests and you can't go wrong. It lists either 5w-30 or 10w-30, of which, 5w is used for winter and 10w is for summer. 5w-30 is fine for all around use. Do not use 15w-50 anything, because your car is not designed to use that heavy of an oil. What that will do is make your engine very hard to start in winter and cause more wear on the engine than necessary. It is designed for very heavy mountain or pulling a heavy travel all day type of use. Synthetic oil is a good way to go because the oil is more durable than regular motor oil. The extra cost is worth the price, but make sure that you stay at the same oil change interval.

Read your owners manuel too. It will help you a lot.:-)

    Hope this helps! jm .02
