Intermittent Brake Noise S70

Hi ,

Im trying to diagnose a problems with my parents S70 T5. They have an intermittent brake noise (fairly high hum)coming from the front of the car at high & low speed stops . It doesn't happen all the time. The car has new pads and rotors. Delear has checked and can't seem to find anything. Any ideas ? TIA

    I noticed the same brake sound when I first got my S70. I took it to the Volvo dealer and it turned out aftermarket pads had been installed and the anti-vibration shims were missing between the brake pad and the caliper piston. They told me I'd have to buy Volvo pads and shims to get rid of the noise. I left aftermarket pads on and after a few hundred miles the noise eventually went away.

      Thanks ,however they are using all Volvo OEM parts . If the dealership forgot
      to install the anti-vibration shims I would expect it to make a noise everytime they braked. This noise is intermittent any other thoughts? Thanks
