Why is my volvo sticking??
I turn it on, press my foot firmly on the brake, go to shift into reverse-
and NOTHING... it wont move at all. It's Austin...it's not cold and it doesn't happen evey time... what is this problem?????? I have to try several times before I can get it out of park. help!!

    do you mean the car wont move in reverse, or the shifter wont move back into reverse gear? if its the shifter that isn't moving it's the microswitch like the others said, but if you mean the car won't move thats worse.

    Yes it is the micor switch. I have the same problem. You can over ride this by
    holding down the shift lock release button when you shift from park to reverse which is located on the console.

    You can release the Shift-lock mechanism by pushing on the shift-lock release button on you shifter console.

    You need to replace your Microswitch, the instructions are in Volvospeed Bay 13.
