Trunk Tail Lights 850

Today I attempted to fix the tail lights on the trunk lid of my daughter's 850 only to discover there are no lights and no wiring for lights. Does anyone know the purpose of having these "fake" lights? Just curious.

You may also find the left lens has one extra bulb

LOL! Those aren't lights, as you discovered! They don't even have reflectors in them. Strictly for looks & aesthetic lines.
