replaced structs but now have clicking... 850

This weekend I replaced my shocks, struts and anti-roll linkage w/ Bilstein HD's. I torqued everything properly. My car immediately developed a low-volume "clicking" under light braking and right hand turns. The sound is from the front left. No noise w/ heavy braking. (yet?)

I used generous amounts of WD40 and penetrating oil (to loosen the old strut bolts)and also contourted the suspension/ drive shafts slightly.

Did I eat away the grease in the cv boots with the WD40 & oil? Or ruin the CV joints? Is it something else?

Thanks in advance.

I'll update all on the problem.

ps. if you're going to tackle your front struts... replace the "bottom-out bumper stops" and the front strut covers with new ones. The bilstein's do not come w/ new ones.

How are your motor mounts? possible the characteristics of the suspension have changed and emphasised failing motor mounts

I had the Bilstein HD's installed. I get the click on the right front during braking or left had turns. Any tips?

      Me Too also 850 1995

Since I had my 855 I've had clunking from the near side (LHS) suspension even after the drop link was replaced. Still don't know what is causing it. It's there when I am parking or reversing, just a clunk then it's gone. Any suggestions anyone?

      Tek.

Does ANYONE have an answer? 850 1995

My '98 S70 GLT has been making a clicking or a "sproing" sound when turning or sometimes when accelerating or stopping.

There is a little movement of the strut assemblies when the wheels are tested by hand in the 9/3 position. It has 60K miles on it.

I replaced the end links but this did not stop the noise. The car tracks fine and I haven't noticed unusual tire wear over 10K miles.

        What's up?

        Bryan
