I've 850T wagon, it runs great except it stalls randomly. Orginally the problem started happening when I would be on a road trip and would pull over for a quick pit stop. If I shut the engine off, I would have to wait several minutes for it to start again. Everything worked, starter turned over, the car just wouldn't start. It is now happening more frequently, but very randomly around town. Any ideas would help, I've had the car tuned up, mechanic can't find any issue on the computer.

If the problem only occurs when the engine is hot, I would look into the camshaft sensor. For instance, the car is been runing fine turn off but would not start after a few minutes. I would take some ice and cool off the sensor and see if the car start right away.

I just had both replaced the other day, it has helped in that after the car stalls it will restart sooner, it used to take several minutes, now it will restart almost immediately. Car has stalled twice in the last two days within about 10 minutes after starting. The engine is probably right up to temperature. I appreciate your quick response, would you happen to have any other suggestions.

It might be worthwhile to replace the fuel pump relays (relatively inexpensive). I had this problem on my 93 850 and spent nearly 400 dollars at both a local volvo mechanics shop as well as the dealership. Seems though all had seen the problem none were enthusiastic about replacing something that inexpensive. In the end I did it myself standing in the parking lot of a volvo dealership after spending 15 dollars.

My 93 did the same thing, I would be driving along between shifts,
the car would shut off, the tach would freeze at the last rpm the
check engine lights would not come on for 20 seconds, Scary

enough of my experince, I chaneged the fuel filter and it the
problem went away.

I would start there

I've replaced the cam shaft sensors, another feedback suggested the fuel pump relay. I will heed your advice also, most likely due for a change also.
