Weak Heat continued - I think it might actually be the Serpetine belt...??? 850 1995

Ok, so here is the reasoning behind it. First off, when the car is running it seems as thought the squeal is coming from the belt. Secondly, if i put the car into position 2, when the engine is off, air still is being pushed through the vents if i turn it off, yet there is no squeal. SO basically, when the S belt isnt moving, the squeal is gone, so im guessing i dont have a bad blower motor?? Any thoughts?

Replace the thermostat. Takes a few minutes and $20 from your dealers parts department unless you buy the Volvo coolant too (then double that cost). You'll only spill a bit if done with a cold engine.

When i meant weak i didnt mean that it wasnt hot... I meant it doesnt come out strong, weather it be on cold air or hot!

Serpentine belt doesn't have anything to do with a weak heat problem. However if the belt is the original one or has more than 60k miles on it, yes replace it. With the car warmed up feel the heater hoses there on the driver's side of the engine compartment firewall and see if they are hot. You should be able to heat the cabin as warm as you want it even with the engine just idling once its warmed up. If you're getting too much cold air in while driving down the street in cold weather try closing the Air Mix doors up at the top two middle vents on the dash. That knob just to the left side of the middle vents is used to regulate outside air entry while you have the heater on. Try putting it in the closed position to cutoff cold outside air from entering the cabin.
