Does anyone know where I might be able to get one of these without going to the dealer. Mine needs to be replaced.

In case you aren't sure what this is--it is the shield that covers the bottom of the radiator from road debris.

My shield got torn in half by a parking bumper that had a metal rod sticking out too high. What I did was drill a couple holes near the edges of the tears and tied both sides together with zip-ties. Very secure now.

If you have the room, save the damaged one. We had one destroyed by THE BIG 65 MPH RACCOON as we refer to him.

I was able to cut appropriately shaped sections out and pop rivet them to the damaged parts of gravel shield of one of our 740s to repair it.

I also used a flat piece to patch a split in one of the inner fenders of one of our 850s, and an angled piece to patch the inner fender behind the battery of a 740.

I still have some material left.

Rick,

I remember your post about how it got torn. Did you try to fix it yourself? Walmart has some epoxy glue mixes for decent prices and maybe you can patch it with a similar piece of rubber/plastic from the inside. That way it may not be visible from outside. We have fixed a friend's legacy bumper with the same method and it is almost invisible to see that was broken.

The part is called an "air guide" in Volvos parts system and no, not cheap.
