Has anyone ever tried to repair one of the damper motor units? When my recirc motor fail I opened it up and found a stripped plastic spur gear inside. I wondered if anyone had a source for these gears rather than spending the big bucks to replace the entire unit.

    ive seen the plastic gear some off the end of the shaft on a couple of 850 recirc motors. I just put a dab of epoxy on the end after pushing them back on and they have held so far

    You can buy/replace just the motor itself and to my recollection (for a Volvo part that is), they aren't that costly. Any dealer can order one if non-stock. The odds of finding an internal motor gear that'd work are slim to none.
