O2 sensor nomenclature 850

I took my 96 850 to the volvo dealer to investigate an engine light and they told me that the "aft O2 sensor" was slow to respond. I did not have them change it because of the high cost. Shortly later my car was due for emissions test and the fault code came back P0133 O2 sensor circuit slow response bank 1 sensor 1. How do I verify which sensor this is, or do I just replace both of them to make sure? Thanks in advance for any help. Andy.

Had the same code on our '96 Turbo wagon last weekend. Replaced the front O2 sensor and cleared the code. Gained back a couple MPG also.

I choose to go the generic Bosch route and got the $47 one from Autozone. The sensor looked identical to original. The only difference was the connector on the harness. I spliced in the Volvo one from original harness keeping the 4 wires the same routing. Woking fine so far.

I had the same code on our 96. I replaced the front sensor. Most of the post say the front goes first. I bought it at http://automedicsupply.com/ It was $109 to my door. Got it in 3 days. It is in and our milage is up around 3 or 4 mpg. Good luck.

    Keith
