Auto Climate Control Slow To Respond 850 1997

Hello,

I have a '97 850 GLT. I have noticed that the auto climate control is slow to respond to changes of the temperature knob. I have also noticed the air either blows hot or cold, but rarely warm. It didn't always work this way, when I first bought the car (used from the dealer) it worked great. Perhaps something need cleaning?

Also, where is the temperature sensor(s) located? Is it measuring air temperature in the cabin or in the air duct?

Thanks in advance,

Ethan

Have you noticed the REC & A/C OFF lights blinking for a few seconds after start car? This indicates fault with system and you need to get the error code read to determine exact cause.

I believe there are temp sensors in cabin and air ducts both. The cabin ones are right behind grab handles by drivers/pass head. A small hole is located there. I'm not sure exactly where in the ducts the others are. There is also a photo sensor in middle of dash where red alarm LED is to determine if day or night time.
