this may be a dumb question, but how do I tell if my '94 850 is an early '94 or a '94 1/2?

    AFAIK, there was no '94 1/2. That being said, I believe all the non sunroof cars had the '93 headlights and bumpers, while sunroof cars got the newer bumpers and lights.

    Check the build date. I used to own a '94 with sunroof that had the slimmer headlights, 5 bolt wheels, and newer bumpers but was put in service in November 1993. It had the more updated features but was probably a September-October build date. Go figure.

      Thanks. I checked the build date: 12/93. 5 bolt wheels and sunroof. Guess that makes her a '94 1/2.

    The early '94's are essentially mechanically the same as '93's so the quickest way would be to count the lug bolts on one of the wheels. 4 bolts would make it an early '94 and 5 bolts is a late '94. I also think all '94's with a factory sunroof are late style but I'm not positive.

    The BUILD date should be on the driver side door area.
    Usually if it's made in the same year as the official MY, then it may be considered a 200*1/2. My brother once had a 1990 & 1/2 Toyota Cressida. It was made in 4/1990. I believe after a certain month in the year, it rolls over to the next MY. Not 100% sure, just a hunch!!!!
