reversing lights 850

my reverse lights don't work i have tried chnging the bulbs but nothing happens.

from reading previous posts i thinks it might be the pnp switch but i have not got any error lights on the dash

could it be something else??

i have a mot coming up in a few weeks nd need to get this sorted

please help

try playing with the shifter between reverse and park, if the light comes on, then it's the pnp switch. the cel comes on later when things get worse like getting the blinking up arrow.

According to Bay 13 page (http://volvospeed.com/bay13.htm,
a great resource) it is probably the PNP with an automatic
transmission. Manual transmission cars also have this problem
and in the case of a manual it is a mechanical switch.

The reverse light failure within PNP switch won't trigger any error light on the dash.
