dashboard glare and tire rating V70-XC70 2001

Well it finally got me...the glare off the dash board caused me to not see the 2x4 with the nail sticking out and I got a puncture on the side of the tire (unrepairable)...so i got just one tire 195/65 R15 89H at Costco though the stocked tire was a 195/65 R15 91H rating...questions are what will Volvo do for the consumer for the glare? ...is a 89H rating so much different from the 91H rating and lastly I have 20,000 miles on the same original tires do I really need to change the other in the back driver side?...thank you all for your time and wisdom...Ohdaddee

I'd thought my buffing your body every Saturday afternoon was enough to get your wax off.

On the dashboard glare, I'm using a velour dash cover from Dash Designs. I got it from IPD. I don't know if they still have them, but I'm sure if you go to the Dash Designs website, they will have on for your car. Mine is color coordinated with the interior, it looks great and no glare.

If you have AWD you need to change the tires together (all 4).

I think (from the tire size) you do not have AWD. I'd consider
two new ones and put them both on the same axle (not on the same
    side).

As for glare, I doubt anything can or would be done by Volvo.

i have the same problem with glare off the black dash.i made the mistake of putting armoural which made it worse.now i am trying to find something to help me remove the armoural.any ideas?

as to the tires, yes there is a difference between tire ratings.check the bible(tire & rim assoc book)available at all tire stores.in the front of this book are the tire ratings.the tire ratings determine the tire carrying capacity which in turn gives you the reserve or safety factor if the ratings are high enough.most tire ratings are calculated at full tire pressure which is usually at 35psi and most people dont put 35psi in their tire because that usually give a harder ride. so this is the reason for the reserve.

remember the explorer/firestone tire problems.apparently part of this problem was little or no reserve or safety factor.plus tire pressures change with the weather.it changes 1psi for every 10F in temperature fluctuations.
    good luck.

Straight or diluted rubbing alcohol will remove that Armor All. Try using 303-Aerospace for protection without the nasty shine. You can find it at boat & rv shops.
