Heater/defrost knob 850 1996

My wife attempted to turn the heater/defrost knob one morning (her thermometer read -12!) and it seem's to have been frozen and I thick it's stripped. Pain in the ass to repair or replace?

    Are you talking about the knob inside the car to control heat and A/C. If so you need about $10 per knob. Real easy to replace. I did the same thing to my 96 2 days after buying it. the little plastic knob pulls straight off no tools need.

    dont feel bad,

    my wife turned on the wipers with 2 feet of snow on the car
    than clicked on the sprayer, which activated the headlight wipers
    locked in ice, now they one wiper is point strainght up

    I don't know what the repair entails, but I'm sure it is a PITA.

    You should ask your wife to be more considerate of cold machinery. I'm sure that condensation or other cold aggrivated ills often lurk inside our cars at severe temperatures.
