Replace one or both front struts? V70-XC70 2001

Dealer is planning to replace a noisy front strut under warranty (Car has 32,000 miles). I thought struts were supposed to be replaced in pairs. Will this cause any problems with handling?

    Struts do not need to be replaced in pairs, neither do wheels, ball joints, a - arms, rods, bushings etc providing the other one on the other side is doing the job it's supposed to...
