Fan making ticking noise 850

Recently, my area's gone through a cold spell, and just a few days ago, when I turned on my fan, a clicking noise can be heard. As I move from 1-4, it gets faster of course. It sounds like it's coming from the passenger footwell, but I'm not to sure. Regardless, it's making a vibration through both footwells that's hard to ignore. The sound is similar to the baseball card in bicycle spokes sound.....

Any suggestions?

Also, does anyone know where I can pick up a PNP around the toronto area for cheap?

Thanks!!!
Kevin

    Fan making ticking noise 850

My 850 blower motor just seized up back in December. It was clicking a bit then whining and then stopped working. Yours could be on its way out. Apparently the design is a faulty and the motor bearings get water in then the bearings seize - its a common problem. Its also an easy fix for a DYIer. I got lucky and bought a used one with a March 2000 manufacture date - $60. It came out of a wrecked '95 850 so the previous owner obviously had the same problem. If you buy from the dealer they are almost $300.

Could it be that you have some leaves or something caught in your blower assembly? This has not happened to my wife's T5 wagon, but I have a Nissan Pathfinder and every once in a while I have to clean the assembly out.
If it's garaged, then I don't know what the problem could be, unless the blower itself is faulty.
